On my way home from work today, I pulled up to the light on Old Keene Mill road in front of Springfield Plaza. There were no cars in front of me, so when the light turned green, I did what I normally do and gave the car about 1/2 throttle in first gear, accelerating ahead of the rest of the cars in the other lanes. Well, most of them. I notice out of the corner of my eye that another car is keeping pace with me, to my right. So, naturally I give it full throttle, to go faster than him. Well, the other car is a corvette, so he easily outpaces me, cuts in front of me (forcing me over one lane), then as we pull up to the next light he looks at me with a smug expression and flicks me off! WTF? The light turns green, and his lane is a bit faster than mine so I end up a few cars behind him with no way to catch up. I drive patiently, figuring when traffic thins out some I can catch up and find out what the finger was about.
Sure enough, two miles later traffic thins, and I get up next to him at a light. I roll down my window, he rolls down his, and I ask, "What was that for?"
"That was for trying to stop me from getting over a lane," he responds.
"Uh.. That's not what I was doing," I begin, "I..."
