Flight to Michigan was uneventful. Was shuffled off to the car and tow rig shortly thereafter, where we thrashed on some last minute changes. (no surprise there)

We left last night, meeting up with some other racers at a rest stop after about 5 hours of driving. We slept for about 4 hours and then finished the other 5 hours of driving, 600 miles total. 8.4 miles per gallon in a brand mew 05 Expedition with a 9000 lb trailer. Not cheap.

Arrived at the racetrack this morning. Weather: Perfect. 75 degrees, sunny, supposed to be this way the entire weekend. The competition is lining up, we did some more changes. It looks like we could win this race if the car stays together. It should, but out there who knows.

THe racetrack is Nashville Superspeedway. It's a NASCAR track, we're running the road course portion of it. Sometimes called the "Roval" .. it's half road course, half oval.

We're using the garage portion to store the car and whatnot. Like.. a NASCAR garage. Like.. power... air... it's just huge. I really should snag some pics, I'm really proud to be out here at such a fantastic place.

Scott Whitehead owns the car and is driving it. He's an awesome driver ... and I'm keeping him sane. This afternoon I fixed the 2-way radio setup in the car. Some of the wiring got fucked up and I had to take apart some of the connectors and resolder them. It's amazing how the time can fly by, we spent most of the day doing last minute preperations to the car. They're almost done ... tomorrow AM we return and the whole day is a pre-race day, time trials, etc. Sunday is the big day. I'll be wearing my Maximum Motorsports shirt, hat, etc ... of course. Gotta show who payed for some of the stuff if we win. :)
