Galen Wolffit

Continuing in the series of poetry I wrote many years ago, since the last post got so many positive comments...

As a babe, I had no words to tell others of my needs.
And so, I cried.
As a child, I had the words,
But could not shape them when afraid, or in pain.
And so, I cried.
As I grew, I had the words, and could shape them.
And I saw tears as a childish thing.
And so, I wrote.
As a man, I found someone to share my life with,
Together we conquered our fears, and our pains.
And so, together, we laughed.
And then, in my old age,
When the one closest to my heart had passed on,
I found that I was alone.
And so, I wept.
