Shortly after I bought the house, I noticed the hot water valve on the master shower was leaking. I replaced the valve stem, and that seemed to solve the problem. It recently started leaking again, and when Keman went to replace it, the valve seat broke. This meant calling a plumber at 8pm on a Sunday night, so we could have hot water in the rest of the house in the morning.
$TooMuch$ later, we have new valves, and a big hole in the shower wall.
I started patching the hole tonight, but while I was drilling holes in the cement board for the valve stems to stick through, I accidentally knocked over something glass of Keman's, and shattered it. :-( I'm sorry, wolf! I'll buy you a new one.
Woe is me.
Oh, and our heat is out. Fortunately, multiple computers and an aquarium generate somehow manage to keep the house between 65 and 70 degrees even when it's in the 30-40s out.
