The "New Math"

Nabisco Mixed Berry Fruit Snacks
Net Weight 2.5 oz (71g)

The front of the package says "About 3 servings"

The Nutrition Facts:
Serving Size 12: pieces (30g)
Servings Per Container: about 2.5
Vitamin C: 100% per serving, 230% entire package

Based on the front label, there should be about 300% of the RDA of Vitamin C in the package
Based on the nutrion facts there should be about 250% of the RDA of Vitamin C in the package

There were, in fact, 31 pieces, or "about 2.5 servings".
If 12 pieces contains 100% of the RDA of vitamin C, my package should have contained 258% of the RDA of Vitamin C.

I find the nutrition facts printed on the package, in combination with the labelling on the front, to be misleading and confusing.

Happy nutrition fact idiocy...
I dont understand what would be so difficult about having "about 2.5 servings" rather than "3" on the front... I guess they just rounded up?

At one point Charlie found low-fat rice cripsy treats at the 7-11. They claimed to be half the fat of normal rice crispies, but appeared to be in the same packaging and size etc.

Upon checking the nutrition information, it turned out that they had simply changed the Servings Per Container from 1 to 2.

I dont think they lasted very long...
