On a lighter note

LIGHT. Hah. haha. I kill me.

Definitely NOT energy star compliant:

http://www.interwolf.net/aquarium/lightingrev2/

895 watts, babycakes!

Those are the new Actinic 03 VHO 110 watt fluorescent glow-sticks and the 4 new squirrel cage blowers to keep everything cool. For now it's 2x250w + 1x175w metal halide for 'additional' lighting.

Look at that power meter spin!!!

Re: Off topic, but...
And here I was thinking that the last couple shots (the ones with the grates) were all blurry cuz flash was turned off and the shutter had to stay open long enough for my hands to shake. It's a Canon powershot A75 camera. 3.2 megapixels, nothing stellar by todays standards. It works for what we need it for- taking pictures and uploading them. That's Galens, the camera I own and sometimes use is an Olympus D2500L. Something like 2.6 megapixels, and getting long in the tooth. I tend to load the images into photoshop and reduce their size, but with the way browsers more and more resize pictures automatically, the ones for the aquarium are native resolution. 2048x1536, which is 2x what I typically upload. I don't even bother with retouching the photos, I will say that canon is quite point-and-shoot most of the time. It occasionally complains about not being able to focus, but at least it complains and will take a picture anyways if you push the button. It uploads via USB, takes rechargable AA's, has a fairly clear screen and can display what it will snap a shot of in both the display and the viewfinder.

You should also calculate the heat output of those pupies...

will help in winter to heat the basement, tho summer will be a diferent story.

I knew someone in college who had something like that in his closet. But I don't think it involved water or fish.
