I tend to be quiet with regards to posting responses in other folks's LJ. But I just figured I'd mention that my AIM text-based client actually is hooked into my LJ. So when one of my friends writes a post, I see it within minutes as though it was a private message. Very cool program, it's called "centericq" ...

It can't send replies unfortunately. But writing a post is as easy as "sending a text message"

I use Semagic when posting from home. It's an LJ client that makes posting quite a bit easier (particularly as it has shortcuts for HTML coding) and you can have it alert you when your Friends page is updated. It also has a very helpful Friends list and makes setting up sub-groups much easier.

There's a link to it right on LJ's main page.

man, centericq roxorz, especially combined with "screen".
I need to set that up, maybe try it with mingw/msys and see how well it runs in windows. Hmm. (For the LJ stuff)
