Lost

I don't know what I am anymore.  I used to consider myself a Republican.  Then I became a fiscal conservative, social moderate.  Recently, and in particular this morning, I heard a Republican spokesman hint that if Americans elect Democrats to Congress this fall, we'll have another terrorist attack.

I'm sorry, but I cannot support a party that would use such fear tactics.

So...  I guess I won't be calling myself a Republican anymore.

But I'm definately not a Democrat.

I've always viewed you as the independent type, personally.

Registering for one of the two major parties is only important if you want to vote in that party's primaries. Otherwise, you've also got Libertarian, Independent, Green, or... your own conscience. Whoa, how about THAT.

No. You gay people go against god's will.

There will be lots of straight animal sex, though.

But only women with the animals.

Male bestiality is wrong.

The age of consent won't change.

The female and the dog must BOTH be 18 years of age.

Meh... I don't associate myself with one party or the other. I have some views that align with both... I don't like the extremes of either. Welcome to being in the middle! :P

Vote your conscience.
I vote by what will make the best change in my government each year. This year it means voting for the Democrats. I've helped Dem candidates in my elections get elected in the past years, but not this year. My candidate voted to suspend habeus corpus and to legalize torture. I can't abide by that either, but the thought of a Congress that would consider such things makes me vote for the Democrat. Because I believe that these bills don't come up for vote under different leadership.

He gets my vote for reasons that are larger than this race. But he doesn't get my support.

Yes.
I'm taking political science right now. We're really learning a lot of information about the parties and the political system. To politicians, it's all about saying anything to get 1) re-elected and 2) money. I don't really consider myself anything. I would lean more towards the democratic side because of my left-sided beliefs (idea of government, reproductive freedom for women, tax benefits for low and middle-class families, gay sex, etc...). But to me, they're all a bunch of whiners.

Welcome to the Rational Middle Ground
Maybe we can finally get some Statesmen instead of all these accursed Polititians.
