speaking of silly laws...

Virginia

You cannot sell lettuce on Sunday, but you can sell beer, wine etc.
*
It is illegal to spit on a sidewalk.
*
If one is not married, it is illegal for him to have sexual relations.
*
Driving while not wearing shoes is prohibited.
*
It is illegal to tickle women.

I've had some interesting and dissapointing interactions recently which make me less interested in going to the con. I'm still going but damn ... the shear quantity of ignorant /bad/ people who are either mean, inconsiderate, or otherwise out to take great pleasure at anothers misfortune is simply astounding. Maybe it's because many (most?) furrys have been made fun of all their lives .. so when they get a chance they do the same. Whatever may be the case, I'm finding the end result to be very sobering.

Driving while not wearing shoes has in fact been shown to contribute to wrecks. the pedals in cars are made with shoes in mind and their feedback is set accordingly.

Actually according to a West VA State Police captain, it is not illegal in any state in the USA, to drive without shoes on (it's even a question on their drivers license exam!)

He could be wrong, of course, but I don't recall seeing anything about that in the motor vehicle code.

The internet knows all: http://tafkac.org/legal/driving.barefoot/driving_barefoot.html

I can somewhat attest to that data, as in Michigan, I've been told by a couple of sources that "it's not illegal unless it's the cause of you being in an accident."

As to furries, I think it has a lot less to do with being vengeful, and a lot more to do with being socially inept and just generally irresponsible and lame.

Georgia

*
It is illegal to use profanity in front of a dead body which lies in a funeral home or in a coroners office.
*
Signs are required to be written in English.
*
Against the law to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole or street lamp.
*
One man may not be on another man's back.
*
It is illegal for a chicken to cross the road.
*
Though it is illegal to spit from a car or bus, citizens may spit from a truck.

Y'know, these "snippits" aren't the actual laws. If you look at the actual laws, they're usually far less nonsensical.

Hmmm. In Texas it's illegal to wear shoes while driving as well... or at least that's what I've always been told. Never looked up the law myself.

I'm going to drive without shoes if they like it or not! I can feel the pedals better.
